Invention Horn
Our invention horn is copied after an original Courtois horn from the year 1841.
The horn is a close copy not only with respect to measurements but also in terms of the manufacturing procedures and the sound. All tubes as well as the bell of the instrument are soldered from hammered brass sheets and therefore show a soldering seam. The use of these methods produces instruments acoustically closer to original instruments, especially where tone colour is concerned. The instrument is burnished by hand according to historical methods before it is polished.
Key notations refer to a1 = 442 Hz. Pitch a1 = 430 Hz and a1 = 415 Hz can be achieved by using the tuning slides 2 or 3 respectively 4.
